After a week of battling extreme heat that forced the Tipp XC boys to adjust their practice schedule, the team faced another challenge on race day at the Treaty City Invitational. Severe weather delayed the start of the meet by nearly an hour as lightning and heavy rain moved through the area.

Despite the difficult conditions, the Tipp boys answered the challenge with a strong team performance, finishing 9th out of 25 teams in the Varsity race.

The Red Devils were led by freshman Seth Shroyer, who continued his impressive season with a 30th-place finish. Senior Lucas Heitbrink followed closely behind, placing 33rd and providing valuable experience at the front of the Tipp lineup.

Patrick McClurg also turned in a gutsy performance, battling through a wet course and humid conditions to help the Red Devils secure their team finish.

The younger runners also made their presence felt in the JV race. Freshman Brady Smith put together a great race, while fellow freshmen Kyle Stump and Casey Seiber also turned in strong performances.

With the weather creating obstacles throughout the week, the Tipp XC boys showed that they could adapt, compete, and continue to move forward as a team.

The Varsity boys will look to build on their performance when they travel to Mason for their next competition. The JV boys will compete under the lights at the Piqua Night Race.
