The Tippecanoe Red Devils are Div. III Regional Champions!
Tippecanoe is now 13-0 following their 33-16 victory over London and will play in the OHSAA Div. III Final Four next Friday vs. Bishop Watterson at a site TBD.
With 11:16 left in the game, London led 16-7 and kicking off to the Red Devils. Then it happened!!! The Red Devils scored 26 unanswered points to win their second Regional Championship in school history. Larkin Thomas was working it with his arm, but more so with his legs, running in a TD from 25 yards. Max Deckard had the game of his life. His fourth quarter performance will live in Tippecanoe Football History. It started with an unbelievable catch, on the London sideline, that led to the Thomas TD run. Max then became legendary with a 20 yard scoop and score of a Red Raider fumble, to give the lead back to the Red Devils 20-16. The Tipp Defense continued to impose their will by forcing a three and out. Xavier Melton scored from seven yards to increase the lead to 26-16 and then Max Deckard struck again with a 45 yard PICK SIX to seal the deal.
Fairborn Athletics hosted an unbelievable event and put on a show like none other. The Fairborn Skyhawk Stadium is BEAUTIFUL and second to NONE. Tippecanoe Athletics thanks their league partner for hosting the game. Way to go Mr. Alexander and the Fairborn Skyhawks!
I have never witnessed a game flip the way this one did in the fourth quarter. That is a testament to Coach Burgbacher, his staff, and the incredible Red Devils! They had their backs against the wall. They played with composure, poise, and confidence. Tipp rose to the occasion and won a Regional Championship. The Red Devils are off to the FINAL FOUR!! See you all next Friday. The site doesn't matter because the Red Devils will be there!!!
